Last Saturday just before noon, Lucerne Valley resident Jennifer Hinojosa and friends were were enjoying a pleasant, sunny fall day playing baseball on the Pioneer Park sports field. Suddenly, the playful moment turned serious. “The fire department urged us off the field telling us a helicopter was coming in,” she said. “They were very quick to load the person in and fly them away.” The condition of the patient is unknown at press time.
