In a hard-fought match, the Mustangs prevailed over AC&E. The team won the first two sets (25-23, 25-20). After losing the third set, 18-25, they came back to win the fourth set 25-19.
Oct. 4: Lucerne Valley, 3, Bethel Christian, 0
Lucerne Valley Mustangs handily beat the Bethel Christian Eagles (Lancaster), 3-0 in a league match. Set scores were 25-18, 25-8, and 25-22.
Sept. 29: Lucerne Valley, 3, Apple Valley Christian, 0
The Lucerne Valley Mustangs volleyball overcame the visiting Apple Valley Christian Warriors , 3-0, winning their first league home match in Thursday's outing. Set scores were 25-10, 25-22, 25-17.
Senior Stephanie Uruitta was selected Player of the Match. Stephanie, team captain, leads the team by her strong play on the court by giving her teammates verbal directions. Stephanie had 10 kills in 21 attack attempts as well as 6 serving aces and totaled 11 points in her serve rotation.
Sept. 27: Lucerne Valley, 3, Victor Valley Christian, 1
The Lucerne Valley Mustangs bested the host Victor Valley Christian Royals volleyball team by a score of 3-1 in the teams first league match of the year. Coming from behind, Victor Valley Christian defeated the Mustangs in the first set, 25-19. The Mustangs recovered, winning the net three sets, 25-8, 25-15, and 25-17. Jasmine Cedeno was named Player of the Match. Jasmine, a junior, had 12 kills in 18 attacks to lead the Mustangs to their first league victory this year. She also had 2 blocks, 2 ace serves and 4 digs.
The Mustangs are now 6-9 over all. They will play Hesperia Christian (8-5) at home on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
