An assortment of local jewelry maker Norma Rambaud and sister Mary Vigil’s original creations greeted Lucerne Valley Market & Hardware patrons last Saturday afternoon.

Those who purchased one of the unique earrings, necklaces and more helped support the Lucerne Valley Community Church youth, who are hoping to attend a youth conference in San Diego.

“I donate everything to the church youth,” said Rambaud.

Church member Debbie Mills joined the sisters during the event.

All items were handmade with authentic materials or semi-precious gems such as freshwater pearls, coral, rubies and garnets.

The night before the sale, the church youth held a taco feast to benefit their ministry, which must come up with $330 per child for the trip. A bake sale will soon be held.

But for Saturday it was all jewelry that made the difference.

“Everything I make I give to the church youth,” Rambaud said. “I don’t keep anything for myself.”
