Last Saturday, three Lucerne Valley Elementary School soon-to-be 5th-graders won a category in the Second Annual Mojave Environmental Education Consortium Solar Tech Oven Competition at the Victor Valley Museum.
The students, Aubry Hirschhorn, Landon Lindner, and Josclyn Nichols, won first place in the Design and Recipes category for grades 4-6.
Their team name is Helio Tech, and they cooked three dishes.
“I’m so proud of them!” said LVES teacher Liu Hirschhorn, who serves as adviser.
