Once again, Lucerne Valley residents enjoyed a complete schedule of events to celebrate America’s independence.
On Thursday, July 3, many gathered at Pioneer Park for a colorful fireworks display. Before the red, white and blue lit up the sky, attendees enjoyed the music of Phat Cat Swinger, games and food provided by several vendors.
“This is the neatest, easiest event to run,” said CSA 29 Manager Reese Troublefield. “It’s so much fun.”
For residents, old and new, the Pioneer Park gathering was a special way to get together.
“I love it,” said Lana Patton, who moved to Lucerne Valley in recent years. “This is great.”
The event was sponsored by CSA 29, the Lucerne Valley Chamber of Commerce, and corporate sponsors DS Energy Solutions, Mitsubishi Cement and OMYA.
The next morning, the community came together on Highways 18 and 247 to watch what a sizeable number of parade entries come down the highway.
“Honoring All Our Military” was this year’s theme. Parade grand marshal Shirley Clemmons led the way.
