Rummage Sale
on Oct. 5
A Place to Go Clubhouse will hold a Rummage Sale from 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 5.
All donations and money earned go to support the Clubhouse, which helps people with mental health issues. The Clubhouse offers members a small meal at 4 p.m., groups and the use of phone and computers .
The Clubhouse collects items regularly for their rummages sales. All donations appreciated.
A Place to Go Clubhouse is located at 32770 Old Woman Springs Road, Lucerne Valley. For more information, call 760-248-2327.

Clubhouse collecting items for sale
It is that time of year again. The Lucerne Valley Clubhouse is collecting donated items for the upcoming rummage sale.
All donated items accepted, please no broken items, and no dirty under clothes. We are trying to earn money for “The Place to Go Clubhouse.” The Clubhouse functions on donations.
We also accept food donations of all kinds. Please, no opened or expired food items. We could also use things like fresh produce, eggs, milk, cheese, bread, butter, canned products and jelly jam. We also could use a small to medium sized freezer.

Food Bank program
The Pacific Clinics Club House (also known as A Place to Go) holds a food give-away on the first Thursday of every month.
The next event will be at 3 p.m. on Oct. 2. First come, first served.
The food give-away is sponsored by the Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino Food Bank Program and USDA Surplus Commodities.

Donations sought for LVES science campers
The Lucerne Valley Elementary School 5th grade science program is seeking donations for students to attend the annual High Trails Outdoor Science School Oct. 13-17.
For five days students will take classes on geology, native culture, orienting and more. During the evening, classes will be held on astronomy and snake identification.
Tuition and transportation are $250 per student. Donors are asked to consider sponsoring the cost of a student.

Tailgate Trick
or Treat at Park
The Roadrunners will host the annual Tailgate Trick or Treat event on Friday, Oct. 31 at Pioneer Park.
The Roadrunners are seeking volunteers for the Oct. 31 event. For more information, call Woody or Pam Hart at 760-248-7807.

Pow-Wow at
Pioneer Park
The 6th Annual Big Time Gathering and Inter-Tribal Pow-Wow will be held on Oct. 4 and 5 at Pioneer Park, 33187 Old Woman Springs Road.

Apple Valley Airshow
The Victor Valley’s only airshow with aerobatics, warbirds, skydivers, RC planes and more will take place on Oct. 11 over the Apple Valley airport.
This year’s Apple Valley Airshow will feature several aerobatic pilots, Tim Just flying the Extra 300, Jon Melby aerobatics in the Pitts, Dave Mathieson in the MX2, John Collver in “Wardog” the T-6, and Rob Harrison “The Tumbling Bear” in his Zlin142C.
Gates are open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aerial demonstrations are from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Admission is only $5 cash, and children 12 and under are free. Parking is free.
Apple Valley Airport is located off of Hwy 18, to 21600 Corwin Road in Apple Valley. No animals except service animals will be allowed at the event. No large coolers and no alcoholic beverages will be allowed at the airshow. Bring chairs, sitting blankets, sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, and don’t forget your camera!

‘Art the Aspen’
on Oct. 25, 26
The annual  “AAUW Art at the Aspen” art show and sale is being staged Oct. 25 and 26 at Sun City in Apple Valley. All artists in the High Desert’s valley and mountain communities are invited to submit an application to participate in this long running art show and sale.

All works must be original and suitable for a family show. First time artists to the show must be juried and must send three current photos of their work to event chair Nancy Mitchell at Avnancy1@aol.com or via postal mail at Nancy Mitchell, 19568 Rolling Greens Drive, Apple Valley, CA 92308. Proceeds benefit American Association of Women’s local scholarship programs.

Calvary Bible Church youth group meeting
Calvary Baptist Church is hosting a youth group meeting every Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Calvary Bible Church (formerly at Pioneer Park). There is live music, a youth lesson and games. All teens are invited. For more information, call 760-248-1127.
