LUCERNE VALLEY • Renewable energy expert Tony Malone will speak on the future of renewable energy in San Bernardino County during Thursday's regular meeting of the Lucerne Valley and Johnson Valley Municipal Advisory Council.

A resident of Lucerne Valley, Malone as served as a renewable energy instructor at Victor Valley College and previously served as chairman of the MAC.

Recently Malone has warned that California's renewable energy mandates could impact Lucerne Valley, which has been called the epicenter of industrial-scale solar and wind project proposals.

"We are in the center," Malone said earlier this year.

Previously Malone gave a MAC presentation entitled "The Good, Bad and the Ugly of Solar and Wind."

The LV-JV MAC meets at 5 p.m. at the Community Center, 33187 Highway 247 East, Lucerne Valley.
