LUCERNE VALLEY • A man was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of pointing a laser at a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s helicopter, according to a news release by the Victor Valley Station.

The helicopter was patrolling Lucerne Valley when a laser was pointed at the aircraft. The pilots were able to pinpoint where the green laser beam came from, the release stated.

Deputy Alan Pennington was dispatched to the 8700 block of Mesa Road. At 9:24 p.m., Jack Ries was arrested at his residence when the deputy found the green laser pointer hidden inside aheating vent, according to the release.

Ries, 27, was arrested on suspicion of pointing a laser at an aircraft — a felony — and was booked at the Victor Valley Jail on $25,000 bail, the release stated.
