Lucerne Valley Outriders events

The Lucerne Valley Outriders will hold their monthly ride on March 15th at Jack-O-Landia Park on Hwy 18th on March 15th hosted by Mary Ann Randle. It will be the usual ride to arrive at 10 a.m. and ride out at 11 with dinner planned for 3 p.m. St. Patricks’ Day special of Corned Beef & Cabbage will be served by Mary Ann so please bring you special Potluck dishes to share. The Outriders plan on doing a LAST RIDE for long time member Ricky Sharp who recently passed away. Bring your own drinks.

On March 28th the Outriders will do a LAST RIDE for long time Outrider and Moose Lodge member, Lou Kershberg, who also recently passed away. The Ride will be from the Moose Lodge down to the VFW and back starting at noon and returning by 4 pm for a service and Celebration of Life by the Moose Lodge and his family. Please bring a side dish.

Lucerne Valley Electronic Waste Clean Up

Lucerne Valley Electronic Waste Clean Up will be held on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

All electronic and electrical items accepted; Projection TVs, Laptops, PDAs, cell phones, computers, scanners, fax machines, paper shredders, toner and ink cartridges, portable heaters, alkaline batteries, ups Units, VCRs, DVD/CD/Tape players etc. Sponsored by the Lucerne Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Lucerne Valley Market and Cal Micro. This is a fundraiser for the Chamber. Any questions call Freda 760-247-2207.

St. Paul Fish Fry

St. Paul Catholic Church will hold its famous Fish Fry dinners with all the trimmings for on Friday, March 20. Donation: $7.50 for adults and $3 for children. Take-outs will be available. Shut off your stoves put the dishes away, bring your family and invite your friends and come on out for a great dinner and camaraderie. St. Paul Catholic Church is located at 8973 Mesa Road.

LV Community to present 'Rivers in the Desert 2015'

Lucerne Valley Community Church will present "Rivers in the Desert 2015 — Uniting the Women of the High Desert in Jesus' Name" on Friday, March 20 and Saturday, March 21.

The event begins on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with spirit-filled worship provided by Billy and Isabel Simpson and "Intro to Humble Heart — Victorious Life." Light refreshments will be provided.

Saturday's event, which is from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., begins with a continental breakfast and worship. Sessions include "Humble Heart,""Victorious Life" and breakout sessions, prayer and door prizes. Lunch will be provided.

The keynote speaker will be April Sork.

Registration is $20 before March 13 or $30 at the door. Attendees are invited to bring a nonperishable food to benefit local needy families to be collected as you park.

Calvary Bible Church Easter Celebration

Come join us for a special time of worship together as we anticipate the Easter celebration with a Good Friday service April 3 at 5:30 pm. It will begin with a Soup and Sandwich potluck at 5:30 p.m. and a service aimed at honoring the death above all deaths of The One above All Ones. Will include drama, music, the preached Word of God, and The Lord's Table. Calvary Bible is located at 10099 Crystal Creek Road.

Weather Spotters Class

The Lucerne Valley Community Emergency Response Team is going to have a weather spotters class on March 21 at the Community Center in Lucerne Valley. This is a Saturday and class starts at 10 a.m. and ends at noon.

There is no cost and it is taught by the National Weather Service. Our Lucerne Valley Disaster Readiness Council is the one to sponsor this. Hand outs will be given. This will make the persons taking class a Weather Spotter and you will have an ID given along with what to report.

Just Jewelry Craft Show on May 1, 2

The Just Jewelry Craft Show has been postponed. The next Just Jewelry Craft Show will be held May 1 and 2.

You will be able to find beautiful handmade jewelry that are one of a kind and you will be able to chat with the artists who made them.

The Senior Center is located behind the Janice Horst Branch Library at Highway 247 and Allen Way in Lucerne Valley.

Fund set up for Carlos Family

A fund has been set up at the Lucerne Valley branch of First Mountain Bank for the Carlos family, which recently lost two of its members in a carbon monoxide poisoning tragedy. To make a donation, go to the bank at 32946 Highway 18 and tell a bank teller that you would like to contribute to the Carlos Family Fund.
