4th OF JULY EVENTS
Fireworks festivities start Friday at 6
Independence Day events will be held over two days in Lucerne Valley with a fireworks show on the evening of Friday, July 3 and the annual 4th of July parade Saturday morning.
Lucerne Valley Parks and Recreation (CSA 29) is hosting the "Red White & Boom" Independence Day event. This year it will be held on Friday, July 3 at Pioneer Park from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Fireworks are just a part of the event. The evening will include lots of family fun — a flag retirement ceremony, games, bounce house, food vendors and a concert.
"NightWalk" Thru the Museum on July 3
Grab your flashlight and enter the dark void of our LV Outdoor Museum. Come join us July 3rd before the fireworks show in the Park.
"NightWalk through the Museum" is free, just bring a flashlight, learn about mining, ranching, and farming when our valley was young and our harvests were plenty. Children must walk with their parent. Meet at the Museum gate just west of the LV Community Center.
4th of July Parade on Saturday morning
Parade line up will be 7:30 a.m with parade judging at 8. The parade begins at 9.
Parade participants should meet at Highway 18 and Trade Post Road. Equestrian groups will line up on the north side of Trade Post Road. All other entries line up on the south side of Trade Post.
Following the parade, several activities will occur at Pioneer Park. They include the Ringing of the bell by Honorary Mayor Lyle Thomas at 11 a.m. followed by the Invocation, Presentation of Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, Singing of Patriotic Song and the Presentation of Parade Awards.
Moose Lodge looking for kids for float
The Moose Lodge would like to invite kids to ride the Moose Heart Float in the parade. We will be on Trade Post Road at 8:15 a.m., if people would like to bring the kids to ride with us, according to Moose member Pam Hardwick.
Also, anyone wishing to ride with on VFW and American Legion floats meet on Trade Post Road at the same time too, she added.
Parade float participants will need to be picked up at Pioneer Park at the end of the parade.
