Members of the community gathered at Pioneer Park last Friday evening for the first installment of the Lucerne Valley Parks and Recreation’s 2013 “Movies in the Park” series.
While sitting on the healthy green grass, families and friends watched Steven Spielberg’s “Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
Some were intent on watching the flick, but many of the younger attendees were content swinging on the playset, playing basketball or skateboarding.
The Lucerne Valley Parks and Recreation 2013 Summer “Movies In The Park” series will continue on July 26 with “Wreck-It Ralph” followed by “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” on Aug. 9 and “Big Miracle” on Aug. 23.
The movies are shown in Pioneer Park’s Outdoor Theatre and begin at sunset.
Admission is free thanks to event sponsors OMYA California, Mitsubishi Cement Corp, Lucerne Valley Road Runners and First Mountain Bank.
In case of rain, movies will be shown in the Community Center next to the park.
